Brethrens.
Assalamualaikum wbt.
Is=20
life fair? Well, I personally feels that the world that we are living in is=
=20
seemingly unjust, cruel and hard. Good guys do not always win; with the bad=
dies=20
seems to be enjoying life to the fullest, sleeping in comfortable beds at h=
uge=20
mansions, eating the best food, driving the best mode of transports, spendi=
ng on=20
their whim and fancies and having the best of amenities. Good guys who even=
=20
shudders at the thought of cutting queues on the road or running way past t=
he=20
yellow let alone red lights seldom get ahead. So, what=92s the worth of bei=
ng a=20
goodie-two-shoe? However, Iman tells me that returns will come to those who=
=20
wait, yeah, the very least, if not in the later point in life, you=92ll get=
it in=20
Akhirat. Better late than never! That=92s a comforting and assuring thought=
, at=20
the very least.
Anyways, what am I brambling about? Views and flashes of life pass=
by me=20
while I drove home after the latest BNO, boys=92 nite out. It was indeed an=
=20
eye-opening event, you never know what will hit you the next time you meet =
old=20
friends, and you thought you knew everything that was supposed to be known.=
You=20
are damn wrong mates, way off!
Being a late starter, as I always am, my trusted 22-year old stead=
=20
managed to find ourselves the wooden-spooner in the race to the =91old Hilt=
on=92=20
cendol stall. The oldie Ford Laser was zooming at 140 kph at times on the E=
lite=20
and North-South expressway though. The toll sets us back RM8 something, thi=
s old=20
memory of mine recalls.
Anyways, the hard-rockers were already there. They were the brethr=
ens=20
from Johor, the bubbly Ahmad Razally, stocky Mohd Eddzam and ever-smiling R=
aja=20
Mohd Ariff al-Haj. The ex-president, Hisham, an ever gracious host was also=
=20
joined by the esteem guru, cikgu Zahari as well as our always ever reliable=
=20
ex-PPM photographer, Doc Azmi. They told me that I have missed the current =
RHB=20
vice president =96 corporate affairs, Azman Syah, who dropped by while on h=
is=20
family trip, visiting his daughter at our former neighbourhood school, land=
of=20
the croaks, Kolej Tunku Kurshiah. My, my, my, we are definitely not young=20
anymore!
Armed with fried-mee, packed by my ever-loving wife, afraid that I=
might=20
get hungry and =91makan luar=92, I was warmly greeted by these group of hum=
ourous=20
individual, well, in their own right, that is. Meal was short and sweet, bu=
t=20
since XXX-president was not around, I resorted to having a glass of ice lem=
on=20
tea instead of cendol.
There was this romour going around about this sweetie cikgu, SB, w=
ho has=20
been putting our dear cikgu Zahari in all kinds of different spots, but a=20
specific bilik computer has been mentioned a lot of times. While pitying hi=
s=20
quandary, most of us present seem to enjoy the story rather than feeling so=
rry=20
for him, J.
With=20
Asar passing on, we board the excellent new carriage Ullyses (how do you re=
ally=20
pronounce this was a hot discussion as well), a newly acquired Fiat of Doc.=
Azmi=20
and almost all of us were in awe. Gadget filled, roomy and all, our thought=
s of=20
Sharafi, our former first BNO chauffer was quickly forgotten, He he he. It =
also=20
comes with a built-in cell phone!
Destination? Bowling alley. Our doc has brought his shiny bowling =
balls=20
and shoes and decided to show us a lesson or two in it. Originally set for =
two=20
frames, the third frame was added after Maghrib since the virgin bowler has=
=20
literally bowled us all with his first-time performance. Score is as=20
below.

After Isya=92, grumbling stomach dictate that we need to grab some=
thing. A=20
trip to Jalan Pantai, off Kuala Klawang brought us to a nice restaurant.=20
Unfortunately there was a huge crowd and the atmosphere too-=91grandee=92 f=
or a BNO,=20
yours truly proposed that we were to drive away to a more down to earth=20
=91warungs=92 instead. About turn, and we found ourselves in Kg. Ismail, Am=
pangan,=20
the other side of the road. No negeri sembilan meals mates, this place is a=
lmost=20
the same with the other eating joints all over Malaysia, I guess, thai-food=
and=20
the likes. There=92s a stall selling western food, satay, roti john etc. Ta=
pi=20
steam boat meals takde nampak pun. Arsenal just beaten Blackburn 3-0 by the=
time=20
we arrived. There was a stall with Astro channel and I did manage to catch =
the=20
match highlights.
Meal=20
was short and fast, but the =91boraks=92 flows. Brother Gazali managed to c=
oax Jais=20
to accompany him to join us there, and he managed to find the Giant market =
quite=20
easily in the night, bravo! More drinks, and more boraks. Time is however=20
running out for our resident medical officer, Curfew which was extended has=
gone=20
way-past, and silent treatment beckons. Quickly finishing off with more end=
=20
notes on SB, our gracious new supir dropped us in front of the Adelphi cend=
ol=20
stall. Some more demonstration on the gadget-filled Ullyses followed our de=
ar MD=20
off to his beloved waiting, but prospectively silent wife!
At=20
the same time, some of us dropped their donated books into my care. They ar=
e=20
Peter Haining=92s The Fankenstein Omnibus and The Vampire Omnibus, Ben Elto=
n=92s=20
Gridlock, Robin Cook=92s Harmful Intent, 2 copies of Times Editions=92 King=
fishes of=20
the world, Alan Downs=92 Why Do This Keep Happening To Me, Paul Taggart=92s=
Light=20
& Shade and Marshall=92s On The Move encyclopedia of transport. 9 books=
in=20
total, exclusive my own personal future contribution. Someone thought of gi=
ving=20
away his political-theme books as well, but decided not to, it=92s too oppo=
sition=20
flavoured.
Parking the rest of the vehicles properly side-by-side under the s=
trong=20
lights at the caf=E9, we split ourselves into three groups. Gazali and Jais=
on his=20
under-utilised Satria, with Ariff and his Johor entourage on his Karen and =
me=20
and Hisham joining Zahari on the other Karen, off we go to the favourite ha=
unt=20
in PD! Macam lah tak de tempat lain nak lepak, especially post-tsunami. Cik=
gu=20
Zahari wanted to get some sea-cucumber for proof of outing, he he he. Someo=
ne=20
did mentioned Bandar Baru Nilai karaoke to be included into the initianary,=
but=20
response was lukewarm, don=92t really know why. Maybe because Pak Haji ada =
sekali,=20
or takut luka lama berdarah kembali,
We=20
had good lepak, good supply of cigarettes, kretek and all, roti kaya ( Kual=
a=20
Pilah punya ini tahun tadak!), big kacang Shandong, tidbits, not forgetting=
buah=20
Keranji and Celagi from hutan Pahang! Confession session was indeed an eye=
=20
opener for everybody but most of the time, the name SB keeps cropping up, e=
ven=20
when the person concerned has gone off for his forty winks! There are thing=
s=20
that indeed nobody ever thought someone might have gone through in his life=
, and=20
the told stories in the nite introduces yourselves better to your mates. Ho=
w=20
precious the time that we spent, sharing all our story of life, the goods, =
the=20
bads, the highs and the lows. It was worth billions Oprah=92s session. Sess=
i=20
memberi nombor ditunda ke BNO ke-tiga, insyAllah.
Gazali has to leave now, bearing in mind that Jais has to be at th=
e=20
greens by 7.30 a.m. There=92s a morning tee-off! Credits to both for making=
their=20
effort to travel even though there are other pressing matters on=20
hand.
Conversation carried on till subuh, and it was indeed a great expe=
rience=20
taking our ablution in the salty sea. MasyAllah, Allahuakbar! Pak Haji lah =
solat=20
dulu, dia supply 1 je sejadah, takleh buat jemaah. Nak guna tikar, dah ada =
kutu=20
melingkau pulak! Alamak aihhhh.
Lepas subuh, our dear CEO kena blah dulu. After saying our bye-bye=
s, bro=20
A. Razally provoked everyone into the sea. Hah, mak engkau, seronok main ai=
r=20
tanpa anak-anak sekali. No worries. Menyelam dan berendamlah sesuka hati=20
bapak-bapak sekalian. Memories of Bondi Beach and Brighton Rocks went to fe=
w of=20
us while splashing around. Dressing pun ala-ala macam 20 tahun lepas, nice =
and=20
exclusive swimming trunks! Nasib baik tak ada mamat yang teringat nak ambik=
=20
gambar.
Stamina ada sikit kureng. Our romps in the sea is not that long, a=
=20
reflection of romps at other locations? He he he! Tempat mandi pun dah buka=
k,=20
near the camping site, and soon after, we found ourselves near Bayu Beach f=
or=20
Nasi Lemak. It was indeed a welcomed breakfast, after all the cigarette=20
intakes!
I=20
vaguely remembered the trip back to Adelphi to pick our cars to go back to =
our=20
respective homes. The mind keeps on playing with the memories of early days=
, my=20
own as well as the ones being told by our brethrens during the nite at the=
=20
bitch, err, beach. Macam-macam terbayang dikepala, yang manis, tawar, pahit=
dan=20
manis.
Every meetings has to end, every =91pertemuan=92 ada =91perpisahan=
=92, this BNO=20
not excluding. We part to each others destination, but we carry with oursel=
ves,=20
a great time and indeed a great memory of getting to know each and everyone=
=20
better session at PD! Thanks to all, participants for being present to enjo=
y=20
each other's company, and not forgetting the rest of the sdarian8=
4,=20
for the participation in spirit. It was indeed an excellent outing, and loo=
king=20
forward to many more. Alhamdullilah.
Yang really appreciat=
e ur=20
camaraderie,
aznijar.
